HOUSE BY THE SEA has two types of customers:
- Wholesale customers, selling retail from their shops
- Private customers buying from our pop-up shops in Denmark or in Zimbabwe.
Conditions of use for retail customers
As a retail customer you can buy directly from a pop-up shops or make an order on email or buy from the Show Room in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Orders and terms of payment
- You are welcome to make your orders on email – expect to be paying cash on site or to make a deposite at 50% on larger orders.
Delivery:
- We can make arrangements to ship your order to any distination
- We will provide Track and Trace nummers, when possible
- We contact you if any longer waiting time is to be expected
Your rights
- Due to the law on consumer rights, you have right to return.
- Rights to return is 14 days from the day you received the goods.
- If you regret you buys, you have to return the goods in the same condition as they were received. You have to pay for the freight cost for returning the goods. We will refund the price of the goods, initial freight costs and expedition fee.
- If the goods are found to have a production fault you will get a replacement sent to you free of charge. Please return the item and a replacement will be sent – we will cover the freight costs.
- If a parcel from us arrives damaged by transport – do not receive it from the freight company. As it will be a matter between you and the freight company
Reservations
- We make a reservation against sold out goods and typing errors on the website and price lists.
- The goods are hand made and can therefore vary in colour tone, weight, size or similarity in pattern.

Who can whole sale?
- A VAT number is required
- Everybody with an interest in Fair Trade and social responsibility
Orders
- First time customers must contact us in order to get login and pass word for the online priceslists. Please contact us, if you are interested in whole sale
- Orders can be made on the webshop directly after login, or on email or Whats App, please use product number as shown on website.
- You can order by phone or Skype too.
- After ordering, we will confirm the order with an order confirmation from us, stating availability of goods and time to delivery.
- The customer confirms the order by paying the deposite as required in the order confirmation.
- Orders over 7.000 dkk ex. VAT are sent free of expedition
- Orders under 2000 dkk ex VAT will be charged 150,- dkk ex VAT as an expedition fee.
Delivery
HOUSE BY THE SEA has 3 ways to deliver to you:
- Sea freight by container; We ship 2-3 containers annually to a storage in Denmark and distribute to Europe from here.
- Sea Freight consignments for smaller amounts of goods, 1-3 m3 directly to the customer.
- Air Freight for fast delivery of up to 30 kg to an airport near you.
- Distribution from storage to customers in Denmark or other Scandinavian countries, is done in corporation with Hammerhus Fair Trade.
- Distribution of goods outside Scandinavia is done by an international road freight company – either arranged by us or by you – as per prior agreement.
Delivery time
- Airfreight is usually within 2 – 3 weeks from payment of deposite. Longer delivery time is to be expected, when the ordered goods are sold out or during holidays or for special productions. We will let you know when a longer waiting time is be expected.
- Container, 6 weeks from Harare (ZW), via Durban (SA), Hamburg(DE) to Denmark.
- Consignment, up to 8 weeks.
Conditions of payment

First time customers will be asked to pay the total amount in advance
- When confirming your order, we will ask for 50% deposite ex VAT + freight cost.

An invoice of the balance will accompany the goods here after.

Payments is within 8 days from the arrival date.

With first reminder is accompanied by a reminder fee of 50,-dkk and 1,5 % interest per month.
Your rights
- With breakages in transport or a suspicion of breakages, please bring this to the freight peoples attention at arrival. Then contact HOUSE BY THE SEA. HOUSE BY THE SEA cannot cover damaged goods due to transport.
- Complaints regarding delivered goods with production faults must be done in five days of arrival. Please send a photo and we will see to the matter.
